In Dead by Daylight, survivors have to try and find the Lament Configuration and solve it to stave off chain hunts. The Lament Configuration is the puzzle box from the movie series that brings the Cenobites to the mortal world. Though not his main ability, the Lament Configuration is very important to Pinhead's gameplay loop. 9 Learn The Lament Configuration's Timing It is invaluable to Pinhead and can ensure quick chain hunts which can easily lead to early picks for the killer. Players serious about picking up Pinhead should consider getting Nemesis as well or just keep a close eye out in the Shrine of Secrets for Lethal Pursuer to come up. Not every Pinhead player will have access to Lethal Pursuer though, as it is a perk from the Nemesis, a killer added with the Resident Evil expansion. Otzdarva, a YouTuber and Twitch Streamer who's very popular in the Dead by Daylight community made a video detailing how Pinhead players can find the Lament Configuration easily before any of the survivors thanks to the Lethal Pursuer perk. While every killer can benefit from the "Lethal Pursuer" perk in some way or another, Pinhead gets a special bonus from using it if players take the time to learn it. When The Cenobite picks up the Lament Configuration, a Chain Hunt is activated.While doing this, The Cenobite will see their location and be able to teleport to it. The Survivor must solve the Lament Configuration to remove it from their possession. A Survivor carrying the Lament Configuration will be afflicted with the oblivious status effect and chains will occasionally be summoned to attack them.The hunt ends when a Survivor picks up the Lament Configuration. Lament Configuration: If left alone, the Lament Configuration initiates a Chain Hunt by summoning chains to pursue Survivors.Survivors can perform the Break Free action to escape. Their movement speed will decrease further as they're hit with a second and third chain. A Survivor bound to a chain is unable to sprint.Direct the chain into a Survivor to bind them. Once opened, tap the Ability Button to summon forth a possessed chain under your control. Press the Power Button to create a gateway and release the button to open it.
